Why choose it?
This machining centre meets the market's many requirements in terms of dynamics, precision and working volumes.
Its highly modular travels, with a Z axis ranging from 1,000 mm to 2,500 mm, the many head and electrospindle combinations and the numerous accessory packages allow Eagle to carry out a wide range of machining operations in every sector.
Breton Eagle can be equipped with technologies dedicated to specific sectors and materials, such as ultrasonic cutting for composite materials, Accuthick for milling operations with automatic thickness control and Accusink for riveting operations.
Thanks to careful design, Eagle offers optimum, consistent performance in every version. Its high modularity makes it possible to build a machine that is practically made to measure for the customer. Vertical travels range from a minimum of 1 metre up to 2.5 metres, and cross travels from 2.5 to 5 metres. In addition, the runway support system allows column travels of 12 metres and more, so that specific customer requirements can be met.
Eagle has been designed for both wet and dry machining.
A number of protective features have been built in to shield all sensitive parts. The axis slideways are well protected by bellows and the main drive components are pressurised to keep out contamination.
In addition, the roof bellows keep dust inside the machining area and prevent it from reaching the slideways.
As well as the labyrinth seal, the head is fitted with a wiper with a chevron seal, which provides complete protection when machining aggressive and abrasive materials or when using coolant.
The tool magazine is located outside the machining area to protect the tapers, which enter the machining area only for the time needed to change tools.
Eagle's thermo-symmetrical design reduces structural deformation and makes it easy to correct through the software. The most sensitive points where heat is greatest, such as the head, the A axis and the electrospindle, are cooled by a dedicated chiller to limit the spread of heat to other parts of the structure.
For those looking for a compact, versatile head, the ideal choice is the Hornet angular head, built to offer torsional strength and precision while extending the working area thanks to its unique design. With a maximum of 18 Nm and 24,000 rpm, Hornet is ideal for material removal on resins, composite materials and aluminium.
When higher spindle power and greater precision are required, the Ghibli fork head is the option to choose. Reaching up to 62 Nm at 28,000 rpm, it delivers high metal removal performance not only on resins and composite materials but also on light alloys.
