Breton Ultrix machining centre
Brand: BRETON
The BRETON ULTRIX machining centre is designed for manufacturers looking for a compact, ultra-high-performance solution for 5-axis machining of complex parts.
Built to streamline production operations, the ULTRIX performs milling and, depending on the version, turning in a single set-up, cutting cycle times and avoiding second operations.
Thanks to its highly rigid structure and advanced 5-axis kinematics, it guarantees precision, stability and uninterrupted machining on high value-added parts. An ideal solution for bringing several operations together on a single machine and boosting industrial productivity.
Push the boundaries of 5-axis machining with a machine built for complex parts, demanding materials and high-value production. The BRETON ULTRIX machining centre combines power, accuracy and flexibility in a multi-tasking design that cuts cycle times and brings several operations together in a single set-up.
By combining milling and turning on one platform, ULTRIX transforms industrial production strategies: complex parts are machined with fewer clampings, fewer operations and greater accuracy.
A premium solution for industrial environments where performance, rigidity and uninterrupted production are critical.

Why choose it?
The great advantage is having several production capabilities in a single solution: roughing, semi-finishing, finishing, measuring, inspection and surface verification. Meticulous design and structural optimisation backed by the digital twin have produced a machine that combines the strength and robustness needed for roughing with the speed and precision needed for superfinishing.
Breton Ultrix features an exclusive solution: a vertical turning bar rigidly fixed to the structure of the vertical ram. The bar is position-controlled and, thanks to powerful hydraulic brakes, can be locked at any point along its vertical travel. Because the independent turning bar reaches easily into the workpiece, far fewer tools are needed and tool holders can be much shorter. Turning operations can therefore be carried out with more power and significantly less vibration.
Metalquartz is a special polymer-matrix quartz compound patented by Breton. It offers high mechanical strength, vibration damping and a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to that of steel.
Thanks to this technology, the base of every Ultrix version reduces vibration and therefore delivers greater accuracy on machined parts.
The Breton Ultrix was developed by harnessing the potential of the Digital Twin, which uses simulations in a virtual environment to allow targeted design optimisation and a significant increase in performance.
The Ultrix is available with the most advanced Heidenhain and Siemens controls. It is fitted with plug-in connectors throughout to speed up programming and maintenance. This solution allows integration with Industry 4.0 software to analyse operating statistics, optimise operations and carry out predictive maintenance.
Ultrix is available in three sizes and can be configured for specific fields of application. It therefore offers ideal solutions for wet or dry machining of special composites, aluminium, steel or superalloys.
Ultrix is available with a wide choice of accessories for every type of application, such as electrospindles, milling/turning tables, various types of automation for workpiece loading and unloading, and tool magazines with up to 300 positions. Ultrix can also incorporate other innovative technologies, such as Power Skiving for gear machining.
